A MOMENT OF CALM
Om motivet
A black-and-white composition kept in a photographic-realism mood shows a chimpanzee absorbed in reading a newspaper with a pipe between its teeth — a scene full of irony and refined humor. The deep black of the fur contrasts with bright tiles and white ceramics, creating a dramatic chiaroscuro effect straight from classic press photography. The whole radiates an absurd calm and philosophical detachment, as if time had completely stopped at that moment. It's a cheeky take on everyday life that both amuses and intrigues.
